SINGLE: SIDECAR – PRIMA HERA

Stef Williamson originally turned heads within the music industry whilst in the pop band, Twin Kidd; a Nottingham based group that achieved recognition from the likes of BBC Introducing East Midlands, Radio X and BBC 6 Music. A five year hiatus from making music and a move to Sheffield later, Williamson returns with a solo project Prima Hera, after being inspired by her journey into motherhood.

The new single Sidecar shares a message of self doubt told through an envisioned viewpoint of another. Driven by inner issues of perfectionism and the almost ‘near releases’ from Williamson.

“At the surface level the song is about someone who thinks they’re better than you. It was only after I finished the lyrics I realised the person in the song is a part of your own mind that tells you you aren’t good enough.”

For the release of the track, Williamson has gotten together with visual artist Paula Weninger to create a unique piece entitled ‘You and Me’ for the cover art. Alongside an accompanying music video telling the story of the creation of the artwork.

As a musician, Prima Hera melds transcendently haunting vocals against the modest beats of electronics and the riveting reverb of piano; allowing Sidecar to manifest a melancholic melody in the most alluring and untimely “Lana Del Rey vibes” of ways.

Sidecar is available from today on all major platforms and if you like what you hear from Prima Hera, watch this space for future reviews later this spring.
