Full Disclosure: Late to the Palace Party but Arriving in Style this 2025

Palace is a London based band made up of Leo Wyndham, Rupert Turner, Matt Hodges and Harry Deacon. They take dreamy indie rock with rich and layered guitar tones to create a soothing, atmospheric, emotional, and beautifully crafted resonant soundscape. Musically, Palace sits somewhere between melancholy and uplift, creating tracks that feel comforting whilst exploring themes of longing, healing, romance and self-discovery.

I already had a couple of songs from their debut album saved on Spotify, but admittedly, they weren’t a band I’d kept up with – until this year. Then the deep dive truly began. I believe everything happens for a reason, and I ended up exploring Palace’s entire discography at a time when my soul called upon their warming words and magnetic melodies the most. Now, I simply can’t get enough.

This year has been the most intense and upsetting of my life, but lyrics such as — “there’s so much more to come” (Let’s Go Swimming), “live well, you reap what you sew; the future is bright if we can ebb with the flow” (Live Well), “sounds insane, but I need the pain ’cause it helps me breathe, living for the rain” (Give Me the Rain), and “let’s live each day like we’re raising up our health. ” (Family) — along with many others wonderfully etched in my mind — have been a grounding, inspirational, and deeply meaningful influence on me.

I’ve Been Yapping About Palace All Year — And There’s Still So Much More to Come

Since joining the Palace “fandom,” I’ve not only deepened my own passion for the band, but I’ve also seen how admiring their fans across the world are, with so much love and enthusiasm pouring in through the comments they leave online. It’s almost like once you catch the dreamy little Palace bug, you know it — and you really connect with it. I even picked up the new Palace knitted jumper designed by Leo, and I’m excited to wear it as my Christmas Day sweater — because sometimes, it’s the small things that bring the most joy.

Lastly, I’m so looking forward to the day I get to hear them live! I’m guaranteed to have quite the therapuetic, happy cry.
