Mayor’s House

Earlier this year, Mayor’s House burst onto the music scene with their debut single, Poetry. This electrifying track serves as a testament to their boundless creativity and showcases their ability to craft melodies that resonate deeply with listeners. Now, the band proudly presents their latest single and accompanying music video, Emma, which further solidifies their position as a force to be reckoned with in the alt-rock landscape.

With an exquisite blend of empathy and musical finesse, Mayor’s House masterfully translates Emma’s experiences into a mesmerising auditory experience. Morris’s poignant lyrics and soul-stirring vocals effortlessly convey the emotional depth of Emma’s narrative, while the band’s rich harmonies, textured guitar melodies, and propulsive percussion serve as the perfect sonic backdrop.

“Emma’s openness really moved me and when I got home from the festival, I knew I had to write about our meeting. The song is her story intertwined a little bit with my own. It’s about the immediate bond that queer people have and our mutual understanding and respect for each other. This is the first song I’ve written that really is a gay song — I mean all of my songs are gay songs because that’s part of who I am, but this was the first song I’d written that really openly addressed that part of myself and it was important for me to do that”Emily Morris
